Short Description of Activity

Our broadband participated in the Gila Wilderness Centennial celebration held at Gough Park and coordinated by the forest service. The event included speeches and presentations by our U.S. Senator and Congressman, forest service officials, and tribal officials, and other activities. Four of our members participated in this worthwhile and enjoyable tabling while conveying information regarding Great Old Broads for Wilderness and our broadband. One of the speeches mentioned the timeliness to pass the proposed Wild & Scenic River designation for the Gila and San Francisco Rivers, which brought lots of cheers from the event attendees. We had 7 folks sign up for our broadband listserv. We also made contact with Wild Earth Guardians who sent us a copy of the GNF grazing allotment map they had on display.

Reflection/Evaluation

It went very well with a good, steady, and well organized pace. We also have a new member who stopped by our table and chatted with one of our members at the table during this event and became a member right afterward. Two of the folks who were at the table next to us representing a herpetology advocacy non-profit were interested in our grazing monitoring and have been invited to go on one of our monitoring trips.
