Reflection/Evaluation
Jody and Jon had heard about the Cascade Volcanoes and wanted to meet us to plan for 2025-26 monitoring season. They were very interested in our past and present monitoring projects and requested our assistance with both solitude monitoring and invasive species monitoring for the 2025-26 seasons. They are responsible for so many wilderness areas in monitoring so many things, however, we can only do a small amount of what they really need and were asking for. We chose to monitor Mark O Hatfield wilderness for 2025-26 seasons and Laurie said she would write the grant. It would only be for about 10-20 sessions per season as Jody wanted the data collected over 10 years. Bondi suggested we do invasive species monitoring, but that involves going off trail and I don’t think we have the capacity for that at this time.
It was a useful meeting and I sent them all of the data from 2021,2022, and 2023 that we had collected in the past in their areas. I am pleased that they contacted us and that we have such a great reputation!
