Short Description of Activity
A gathering in Nogales, AZ with Art, Music, Mask and spoken word to draw attention to the impacts of the US/Mexican Border Wall on migratory species. The gathering centered on the plight of the Jaguar. However, I as Mexican gray wolf Sonora, told her story along with that of her son Mr. Goodbar. We also celebrated the return of wolves Llave and Wonder, to the Borderlands. I was also on a panel that discussed the effect of the Wall on a multitude of species. The night ended with a procession to the Wall where artist Lauren Strohacker projected wildlife images onto the Wall.
Reflection/Evaluation
Audience turnout was good, although most of the participants did not show up in person, but sent their stories through video.
The wildlife images on the Wall were striking, set against concertino wire. Here is a link to a story about them, in case you would like to see.
