Short Description of Activity

Mondays: bike riding in Teton Valley or Jackson Hole. Wednesdays: Hiking in Idaho or Wyoming. During July and August we have two hiking groups, in order to keep our numbers manageable.
This month a group of 13 WHALES donned red, white and blue tutus, and played well-known songs on kazoos, as we marched in the local 4th of July parade. Another member drove her beautiful restored old truck, with GOB and WHALES banners adorning it. It was a fun time, and we were well-received by our communtiy!

Reflection/Evaluation

Many women join the WHALES just to hike and/or bike with us. Leaders use our time together to talk about environmental issues, our Great Old Broads affiliation and the values of membership. We continue to have large turnouts for our two hikes and one bike ride each week. Women new to our area are quickly assimilated because of these recreational and social opportunities
