Short Description of Activity
Regularly scheduled meeting.
Reflection/Evaluation
Discussed a National level of forest interest group that will meet later in the month. Sara and Audrey discussed National’s position statement regarding Old Growth and upcoming amendment. There is an overlap with also the Forest Plan and it’s amendments. There will be a presentation at the National Conference. National is working on what the overall statement/position will be for broadbands to adopt. They are open to what chapters would like to see included but realize since this is a state wide, coast to coast amendment, things will have be somewhat open-ended/general. It has been suggested that Biomass should be included as a concern as it already is impacting the southern states and on its way to the west coast. We have been asked not to sign onto other coalitions positions at this time, they want uniformity with National position. The draft EA should be out Labor Day with comments to follow. A question brought up was how does this apply to the Blue Mt. Forest Plan?
