Short Description of Activity
Jonnie planned Painted Hand Trail Stewardship as our May activity. We raked social trails, created rock necklaces to outline the trails, collected and arranged juniper branches to keep people on the existing trails, and thought like landscape architects to help make Painted Hand Trail even more beautiful. Jeff met us there for lunch to answer questions about Canyons of the Ancients National Monument trails.
Reflection/Evaluation
We started monthly First Friday Meet Up breakfast by the Dolores River to plan activities with members who would be able to attend that month (because so many have travel plans during the summer) and to encourage shared leadership. Jonnie said she’d work with Jeff and see how we could help at CANM at the Breakfast Meet-Up. She planned everything and chose Painted Hand Trail work with Jeff. So we did a fun stewardship activity, built a new relationship with CANM staff, and created a new Broadband project with Jonnie as our leader. Jennifer helped by sending out group invites and info.
