Short Description of Activity

Mondays: bike riding in Teton Valley or Jackson Hole. Wednesdays: Hiking in Idaho or Wyoming. During July and August we have two hiking groups, to keep our numbers manageable.
Our annual epicurean picnic was held this Wed., and was a tasty and well-attended success! From now on we will have one hike a week, as our numbers tend to drop as people head back to other homes/areas for the Fall.

Reflection/Evaluation

Many women join the WHALES just to hike and/or bike with us. Leaders use our time together to talk about environmental issues, our Great Old Broads affiliation and the values of membership. We continue to have large turnouts for our two hikes and one bike ride each week. Women new to our area are quickly assimilated because of these recreational opportunities.
It’s a wonderful group, and at the picnic many of us were commenting on how grateful we are to the WHALES for helping us get settled and make new friends who also enjoy the great outdoors and want to preserve it for future generations.
