Key Partners: Broads national grazing collaborative; Mary O’Brien; GMUG National Forest/Ouray District

Short Description of Activity

Meetings, correspondence, project planning and monitoring protocol writing plus participation in national Broads grazing collaborative. Sign on to letter to Region 2 Forester advocating for Annual Operating Instructions (AOIs) to be posted online in a timely fashion annually. Install transect in upper South Bear Creek basin using the Landscape Appearance Method recommended by Mary O’Brien

Reflection/Evaluation

NSJBB is slow to develop a monitoring project, but we did set up one transect, discuss grazing concerns with the GMUG Forest Supervisor and continue to plan for how our BB can be most effective and influential with federal agencies. Amanda Clements leads this project and has acquired lots of data and is moving forward strategically given her former employment with federal agencies.
