Reflection/Evaluation
It was a great event. The food was excellent! I really enjoyed the trip out to the Hot Creek Geological site. It was very helpful and informative to see exactly where the drill sites were and were going to be dug and how that would impact the wildlife and the recreation. We also did some solitude monitoring in Lundy Canyon and Gardisky Lake. Great stewardship project for a Broadwalk! Krestine really kicked -ass in her preparation for this event! I hope she gets some help next time. I was also pleased that I got to meet Julie in person!
The only problem we encountered was the problem bear and some people not putting their food in bear safe boxes or securing their food in their bear canister. I am so glad that I purchased one for this event because now I have one of my own! If Micky and I decide on doing our own BW in a campground around bears, we may need to be a bit tougher on the participants if they do not store their food safely. I am not of the right mind to be chasing away bears in the middle of the night!
Anyway, I really enjoyed the event and I hope Krestine plans on more events in her area.
