Short Description of Activity
As part of our Regional Broadwalk held at Deception Pass State Park, we organized a stewardship activity with the Island County Marine Resources Committee and the Northwest Straits Foundation. These organizations are involved in shoreline restoration at Bowman Bay within Deception Pass State Park. This is an ongoing project that has included removal of invasive weeds and added native plants to improve wildlife habitat. For this stewardship activity, our Broads removed invasive weeds and plants.
Reflection/Evaluation
This activity was a success. Eight Broads worked for more than two hours to remove invasive plants and weeds. Many invasive plants and weeds were removed during that time.
