Short Description of Activity

I was asked to write letters of support for applications for trail improvement grants from two local organizations. CTNF staff is applying for a grant for trailhead improvements at the Darby Creek trailhead. Darby is one of the most heavily used trails in our valley, yet there is not a toilet at the trailhead. In addition to the letter of support, the WHALES have pledged to raise at leas $1500 for the project, if the grant is approved. TVTAP is seeking funding to extend a new trail and connect it to another very popular trail to create a loop. These are easily accessed trails and basically flat, so they can be used by nearly everyone.

Reflection/Evaluation

We will see! I’m glad that the WHALES are considered an important partner by these other agencies, and happy to help with their efforts to improve recreational opportunities on our public lands..
