Short Description of Activity
Teton County, ID commissioners held a public hearing to present the updated maps of the Natural Resource Overlay to be used for land development planning. Six WHALES attended, and three made public comments.. Two of them had previously spent many hours developing the habitat proposal as part of the advisory committee.
Reflection/Evaluation
The revised NRO passed unanimously. If applied as intended, it will help to steer inevitable development toward areas less important to the wildlife we coexist with, and away from sensitive natural features such as wetlands and migration routes.
