Short Description of Activity
Rosanne, Bondi, Laurie, Lorena and Linda and Trish and LInda met on November 21 on zoom. Rosanne, Bondi, Lorena, Carolyn, Doren, Laurie and Ann also met in person on 12-18-24 to discuss the campout.
Reflection/Evaluation
We decided that our first choice would be Ohanapocash CG in Mt Rainier NP and our second choice would be Cape Lookout State Park. Our preference of dates would be September 4-7, 2025. Campout Meeting Minutes 11/21/24

Preference for Date: September 4 – 7, 2025
. Campout 2025 updates 2025 dates will be Sept. 4-7 (Thurs – Sunday) or the following week. First choice: The committee will reserve a group site at the Ohanapecosh campground in Mt. Rainier NP; 2nd choice: Cape Lookout SP; 3rd choice: Champoeg Oregon State Park.
Registration 6 months in advance would be March 7. Laurie to do so
We lose $ if we cancel within 2- 4 weeks

Hikes nearby Southeast entrance near Stevens Canyon entrance. Hikes near wildflower fields. Hiking committee to meet on Dec 18 at 2-2:30pm at Laurie’s following the party.
Food Packwood has ice. Chili with side dish was suggested. A potluck the first night was suggested. Taco/burrito bar was also suggested. Breakfast and lunch on your own. Bondi will bring 2-burner stove. Linda and Laurie have 1-burner stoves. Laurie has pots. Bondi to bring a kettle. Lynn to bring 1-burner stove and coffee pot. Laurie to bring coffee and tea. Fires may not be permissible. S’mores were requested. BYOB for happy and people bring either a dessert or an appetizer.

Campground Info:
Cape Lookout State Park – Near Tillamook
· Lots of Hiking. Cape Lookout Trail is famous for views. The northern end of Three Capes Scenic Route.
· 38 RV sites
· 170 Tent sites w/water nearby
· 13 yurts
· 6 delux cabins
· Group tent camping area

· Flush toilets and hot showers (campers only

Mt Rainier Hikes:
The group wanted to allow for 2 different ability levels. One option would be a 608 mile option with up to 1000ft elevation gain. The other option would be 4-5 miles with less than 1000ft elevation gain.
Chinook Pass area–Naches Loop. 3.5 miles with 500ft elevation gain. Lynn is looking into this.
Sunrise is a 50 minute drive from Ohanapecosh CG.
Paradise Point/Skyline Trail is a 5-mile loop trail with 1500 ft elevation gain. It starts at the visitor center. The Paradise Glacier is 5.5 miles with 1100 ft elevation gain.
Reflection Lakes-Pinnacle Peak Trail and up to the saddle. Also Plummer Peak trail.
Box Canyon is on the way to Paradise and is right off the highway. Good option for on the way.
Longmire museum and Rampart Ridge Trail. 4.5 miles with 1800 ft elevation. No good views. Lorena is interested and will share history.
Packwood Lake. Laurie will lead the hike on the way back from the campout.
We need to reserve the campground and then discuss registration and meals. Next meeting TBD.
