Short Description of Activity

Bondi, Kathleen, Trish Claffey and I joined others in counting birds along Salmon Creek Greenway for the 2024 Christmas Bird Count (CBC).

Reflection/Evaluation

What a terrific day we had! Bondi, Trish, Kathleen and I walked along the Salmon Creek Greenway in Vancouver, Wa and noted 37 different species of birds. The day was dry and overcast as we hiked a total of 6 miles RT watching and listening for birds. The use of technology with E-Bird helped in identification of bird calls to a great extent. Some of our finds included: Cooper’s Hawk, Hooded Merganser, Bufflehead, Belted Kingfisher, Re-breasted nuthatch, Golden crowned sparrow, and Ruby-crowned kinglet. Our data is below. I submitted the data to our lead with VAncouver Audubon with the photos. Other nature lovers along the trail were fascinated with our activity!
