Short Description of Activity
Surveyed 5 separate sites where rare/sensitive plants were recorded over 25 years ago. Also surveyed for rare/sensitive insects.
The field season culminated in a well-attended presentation by CNHP scientists in Ridgway co-hosted by NSJBB.
Reflection/Evaluation
Two Draba species were not found at 4 separate locations, but efforts were thwarted by the plants no longer being in bloom. One species Monardella odoritissima was apparent in a location already observed in 2023 and earlier in 2024. Though many photos of unfamiliar insects were recorded, none of the species are considered rare or sensitive. Next year, we’ll look for the Draba species (whose florets are smaller than 5cm) during their bloom cycle!!
The summative presentation by CNHP was fabulous, engaging and informative!! Post activity hours include all the reporting to CNHP.
