Short Description of Activity

Monthly First Friday Breakfast Meet-Ups help us plan activities for each month and involve 4Corners Broadband members in shared leadership. Sally attended one of our Breakfast Meet-Ups to encourage our group and support our projects. We also get new members this way. Certain Zoom meetings seemed extra and not related to our group project goals, so Sally released me from the grazing teams and added me to the Dolores River Canyon and White Mesa Mill leadership teams which are more related to our projects. I would also like to remain with the National Forest team so that we can help protect the San Juan National Forest- part of our Dolores River watershed.

Reflection/Evaluation

This re-organization feels right. The only grazing issues I had been advocating for were in Canyons of the Ancients National Monument and those two allotments Flodine and Yellow Jacket are well on their way to restoration with Tribal shared leadership which I advocated for under the new BLM Public Lands Rule. So I’m glad to have participated, but advocating against uranium mining at Slick Rock and other projects need our attention more. I’m just counting the monthly Breakfast Meet-Up time and not the Zoom meetings.
