Key Issue: Livestock Grazing Management
Activity Type: Advocacy (rallies, lobbying, meeting decision makers, letters/calls/emails)
Landscape/area: Uncompahgre National Forest (951767 acres)
Short Description of Activity
Attend national Broads Grazing Collaborative monthly meetings with focus this autumn on advocating for mandatory annual posting of Annual Operating Instruction and allotments maps dictated by policy at the Regional Forest level across the west. Attended meeting with USFS Region 2 Forester Troy Heithecker and Regional Director of Renewable Resources Dan Dallas. Also working with observations and ways to report/present data.
Reflection/Evaluation
Meeting with Region 2 staff went well though no definite promise to post AOIs and maps yet. Broads Grazing Collaborative members from Colorado will circle back in spring 2025 before grazing season begins.
