Short Description of Activity
Advocacy on local wildlife and land use issues related to winter recreation and the Ouray County Master Plan revision. Addressed the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) at two different meetings re: extractive industries (as related to the Master Plan) and winter recreation related to country roads. Submitted comments re Master Plan and separately a proposed winter maintenance agreement to plow a previously unmaintained county road that has for years been used for human powered winter recreation and snowmobile use only. The uploaded letter re: 62x from Robyn Cascade was written as an individual; when Robyn addressed the BOCC as a representative of Broads, she only spoke to the wildlife concerns relevant to Broads mission.
Reflection/Evaluation
Time will tell if the final/adopted Ouray County Master Plan reflects the recommendations submitted by Robyn as an individual. Broads did not submit comments.
Great news!!! The private landowner who was seeking the winter maintenance agreement to plow 62X rescinded his request following the public comment period at the BOCC meeting given so much opposition. Broads comments (among others) contributed significantly to this outcome. Celebrating the power of our voices!!!
