Reflection/Evaluation
Called to question how Forest Service is in the business of having a logging program to produce revenue – not so much protection of forests. Discussed how forest service has changed some of it’s language as to “treatments” and other things to not make their practices look so bad to the public. Forests will regenerate after a fire, but there is a lot of scare tactics happening to frighten the public about fires in the areas around their communities. Forest service is still operating out of 19th centuray policy and not updating their practices to current science and what we are dealing with when it comes to climate change.
